DIPR, SWD organise Anti -Drug abuse awareness programme for students
RAMBAN, June 15: The Department of Information and Public Relations, in collaboration with ICDS, Social Welfare and Drug department Ramban organised an awareness camp on hazards of drug abuse under “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” here in New Convent Secondary School Maitra .
Programme Officer of ICDS, Ramban, Jahangir Hashmi, was the Chief Guest, while District Social Welfare Officer Rahul Gupta, Drug Control Officer Imtiyaz Ahmed, Chairman of School Mehboob Ul Hussain and students participated in the awareness event.
The event witnessed the active participation of more than 100 students.
The programme aimed to create awareness among the youth about the perils of drug addiction and equip them with strategies to overcome this menace. PO ICDS engaged in a productive dialogue with the students, sensitizing them to the physical, emotional, and social harms associated with substance abuse. Through this interaction, he provided valuable insights on how to break free from the clutches of addiction.
In a symbolic gesture of commitment and solidarity, an oath-taking ceremony was conducted, which included the participation of PO ICDS, the District Social Welfare Officer, the Drug Inspector, the School Principal, dedicated teachers, and zealous students.
The event served as a pivotal moment for the students, empowering them with knowledge and instilling a strong sense of responsibility towards their own well-being and that of their peers. It emphasized the importance of unity in the fight against drug addiction and showcased the unwavering dedication of the community in supporting a drug-free future.
The Drugs Department Ramban led by DCO and ICDS Ramban extend their heartfelt gratitude to all participants for gracing the occasion with their presence. The collaborative efforts of all involved stakeholders were instrumental in making this programme a resounding success, ensuring a positive impact on the lives of the participating students.
