Indian Army creates Toilet facility in GHS Bhordhar
RAMBAN, January 05: Indian Army today dedicated a newly constructed Toilet Unit for Girl students at Government High School, Bhordhar of district Ramban. The facility was created as an initiative to ensure the education and empowerment of girl children, strengthening of basic infrastructure in schools and to control school dropout rate of girls, especially in the rural areas.
The Indian Army has come forward to construct a toilet in the school for providing a safe environment and maintaining good hygiene and sanitation for girls in the school. The facility was inaugurated by the youngest girl student of the School, Rutba Bano, in presence of the Principal of the host school, Teachers, PRIs, and media persons. The event was attended by 60 students including 42 Girls.
The prominent persons and Indian Army urged the local youth to avoid anti-social activities and participate in nation-building and women empowerment activities to stand with the true spirit of an egalitarian and liberal society. They also spoke about the importance, power, and potential of girls around the world besides throwing light on the girls’ needs and the problems they are facing and the collective efforts to meet and fulfill them.
The initiative was very well received by the local populace and was appreciated by everyone. The construction of toilets for girls has developed good faith and acted as a hub for broad-based interaction between Indian Army and the local populace.
