DC Jammu reviews status of JJM works; Directs to scale up pace of progress

JAMMU, JULY 07: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa, today convened a meeting of concerned officers here in DC Office complex to review the status of works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

At the outset, the concerned officials informed the Chair regarding the number of works completed and those under progress.

It was informed that against 736 works under 272 schemes, 733 have been tendered, 680 allotted and work on 301 started of which 54 have been completed so far.

The DC emphasized to make every effort to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households is achieved as per the projected timeline.

She said that the JJM is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all the households.

The DC directed the concerned officers to scale up pace to achieve the target within the stipulated time.

She also directed the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress of all allotted works for their time-bound completion.

The DC also directed the concerned officials to expedite the tendering and evaluation processes after administrative approval and technical sanction is granted by the competent authority, besides ensuring the allotment of works before the set deadlines.
