DC Udhampur reviews enforcement of measures to control illegal mining

UDHAMPUR, JULY 07: To discuss measures to be taken to curb illegal mining in the district, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of officers of line departments here in the Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral; DMO and other officers attended the meeting

During the meeting, the DC issued a slew of directions to the concerned officers for containing illegal mining. He emphasized on following a zero tolerance policy against illegal mining. He asked for conducting surprise inspections at all vulnerable points. The SDMs and Tehsildars were asked to establish check nakas at all potential entry points to check transportation of minor minerals illegally.

 SDMs and Tehsildars were further directed to prepare a list of JCBs those who are involved in mining purposes and submit a report within two days positively.

Besides, the Traffic police was directed to check e- challan of Vehicles during transportation of mining minerals. He asked the concerned officers to take strict action against the perpetrators of illegal mining and bring them to the book.
