JAMMU, January 06: preparatory meeting for the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Block 12 and Block 13 of the Gandhi Nagar Constituency was held for on Friday at JK Plaza. Former Minister J&K and senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney chaired the meeting where the leaders discussed and reviewed the ongoing preparations.
Speaking at the meeting, the former Minister hailed the comeback of several leaders into the Congress fold and said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra has not yet arrived in Jammu Kashmir, however, it’s positive effects are showing. The mass-movement started by party leader Sh. Rahul Gandhi Ji, Sawhney said, intends to spread the spirit of love, unity and harmony and effects can be seen within the party as well.

Arun Kumar,Omparkash Sharma, Gurdasmal, Puran Chand, Swarn thappa, Sohan Verma, Sanjeev Kattal, Janak Raj, G.L lochan, Captan Ghar Singh, Daya Ram, Vedpal, Lajju Ram, Om Parkash, Subhedhar, Tarsem Lal, Bholla Shah, Vidhi Chand.
At the meeting, various members were assigned roles for the upcoming yatra. They further expressed that the common people are as excited and eagerly waiting for Yatra’s arrival as the members of the party. Sawhney appealed to the present members to continue with the preparations with the same zeal. Also, speaking at the meeting, Sawhney targeted the BJP for creating an atmosphere of hate and tension across the country.
He added the Bharat Jodo is a positive movement and is uplifting people, on the other hand. He also commented that in the spirit of unity, many leaders who had left the Congress, are joining back.
This is a welcome move and the party has open arms for anyone and everyone who wants to work for the betterment of the people, and this is beyond politics he said.
Further addressing the meeting, Sawhney stated that the Congress party and leader Sh. Rahul Gandhi Ji have taken on a magnanimous task for the betterment of the nation reminding all that Congress is not afraid to give personal sacrifices for the greater good. The people across the nation and similarly in J&K align and relate with this sentiment and hence want to be a part of the yatra to showcase that strength lies in unity.
He added that as part of preparations for the BJY, touring various areas across Jammu, we have realised that people are eagerly looking forward to welcoming the yatra to Jammu Kashmir. “We all are ready to welcome the Bharat Jodo Yatra today. All preparations are being completed. It will be a historic yatra and a grand success in the UT. Besides party workers, there is great enthusiasm among the people of the state for this yatra,” he said.
