JKNC Central Zone distributes Table Fans among poor ladies

Jammu:11-07-23:The Central Zone J&K National Conference (JKNC) organized a programme at Bahu Fort area wherein Table Fans were distributed to old aged women on 23rd death anniversary of Madr-e-Meharban Begum Akbar Jehan.

Former Minister and Zonal President JKNC, Babu Ram Paul was chief guest on the occasion whereas Ankush Abrol Provincial Joint Secretary JKNC was guests of honour.

The programme was organized by Dr. Vikas Sharma, Co-ordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary JKNC.

The functionaries recalled the contribution of Madr-e- Meharban stating that she donned various roles during her life span not just holding the party flag high but also giving trajectory to the strength of party workers at a time when Sher-e-Kashmir was serving confinement.

Former Minister said that Madr-e- Meharban not only played a key role in overthrowing the York of feudalism out of JK but also worked ceaselessly for poor and deprived sections of the society until her last breath.

Calling her a paragon of sacrifice, Sr leader said any reference to JK’s struggle for restoration of its rights pre and post 47 cannot be complete without her mention. “Even today the public memory is replete with the enormous incidents of her unfathomable heroism, bottomless compassion and unparalleled self-sacrifice. Her doyen role in carving a selfhood and identity for people of J&K is tremendous,” he said.

Referring to the sermons and advises of Madr-e- Meharban, Ram Paul reiterated that she taught us to always support the helpless and poor people and continue going forward by maintaining brotherhood and harmonious relations with people irrespective of caste, creed or color.

He said “National Conference is a party of the masses and always works as a frontal political party to help eradicate poverty and support needy persons.”

Ankush Abrol also paid glowing tributes to Madr-e-Mehrban Begum Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on the eve of death anniversary, he recalled her historic role during the political movement of Jammu and Kashmir, as also towards the socio-economic empowerment of women.

Dr Vikas Sharma said that the exemplary contribution of Madr-e-Meharban in promotion of female literacy and empowerment of weaker sections of the society, irrespective of region, religion, caste, creed and colour. She will always be remembered for giving a big fillip to female literacy.

Navid Raja Zonal Joint Secretary JKNC, delivered the welcome address while BD Dalotra Zonal Secretary JKNC, presented vote of thanks.

Prominent among others present included Manohar Lal, Dr Rajesh Singh, Surjeet Kumar, Bahadur lal, Sagar Lal, Abishak, Ram Singh and others.
