Director Agriculture Kashmir visits SMFs at Harran Budgam, Gangbugh Sgr
SRINAGAR, JULY 12: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited seed multiplication farm (SMF) Harran Budgam and interacted with the staff/ technical experts there. He also took stock of various agriculture interventions adopted by the said farm.
Addressing the staff at farm, Director Agriculture expressed satisfaction and said, “We are endeavouring to provide seed/seedlings of different vegetable crops to the farming community round the year. He asked the concerned to put in all the efforts so that more and more seed could be produced from departmental farms”.
Director Agriculture said that the department is committed to provide quality planting material to the farmers. He said that vegetable cultivation is now not only restricted to the rural areas but is gaining popularity in urban areas as well, therefore the department has to play a big role.
Earlier, the farm manager informed the Director about various interventions that are being adopted by the technical experts during the seed/seedling production process.
Later, the Director Agriculture visited seed multiplication farm Gangbugh Srinagar and inspected different blocks of the farm.
The Farm Manager gave a detailed presentation of different agriculture activities conducted at the farm.
