UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) organizes an Industrial Webinar on “Entrepreneurship in the Era of Startups” under the Industry-Academia Partnership Series.

KATHUA, July 13: UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) organized an Industrial Webinar on “Entrepreneurship in the Era of Startups” under the Industry-Academia Partnership Series for the students of the Campus. The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, founder and CEO of Sustaineco and Former General Manager, Corporate Sustainable Development, NTPC Limited. Mr. Kumar has a professional experience of more than 39 years and has also delivered 94 physical and virtual talks during the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Moreover, he represented India in the ABCD International Speakers Marathon as an Expert Speaker.                                                               

Mr. Kumar explored the concept of entrepreneurship in the era of startups and highlighted the characteristics, challenges, potential benefits and opportunities that entrepreneurs face in today’s fast-paced world. He added that startups often leverage technology, disruptive business models, and unconventional approaches to address market gaps and sometimes create entirely new markets. While giving examples of various young entrepreneurs emerging in India, Mr. Kumar said that aspiring entrepreneurs can navigate this dynamic landscape successfully by identifying market opportunities, building strong teams, securing funding and embracing innovation.

 Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) said that startups have become a driving force in the entrepreneurial ecosystem as they embrace agile methodologies, emphasising rapid iteration, experimentation, and learning from failures. She also added that entrepreneurship in the era of startups represents a dynamic and transformative force in the business world as it epitomises innovation, agility, and the pursuit of rapid growth. Dr. Kilam reiterated that entrepreneurship in this era presents immense opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to shape the future of industries and contribute to positive change.   

   Dr Sourabh Shastri, I/C Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) introduced the resource person and said that these types of interactions with the experts provide in-depth knowledge of multidisciplinary modules.

Dr Rubby Mahajan coordinated the whole programme, and Er. Himani Khajuria delivered the vote of thanks .
