Kishtwar launches “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative to bring medical services to remote villages
KISHTWAR, JULY 13: The Health Department, in collaboration with the District Administration Kishtwar, has launched a pioneering initiative called “Doctors Apke Gaon Mai” aimed at providing comprehensive medical screening services to remote villages in the district.
The initiative commenced on July 12, from Nowapachi Marwah and organised today at Afti Warwan. In Marwah, a camp was held at Community Health Centre Marwah where a total of 1376 patients were examined by specialists from District Hospital Kishtwar. More than 100 Persons with Disabilities were also examined for UDID Card issuance.
Similarly, at Warwan Camp was held at Primary Health Centre Afti by the same team of doctors lead by Chief Medical Officer, Dr MY Mir where 658 Patients were examined and provided consultation besides 47 PwD were examined for UDID Card issuance.
The three-month-long “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative is designed to address the healthcare needs of underserved communities in the region, focusing on remote areas that often lack access to adequate medical resources. Recognising the urgent requirement for accessible healthcare services in far-flung regions, the “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” initiative will deploy a team of skilled and experienced doctors to remote villages in district Kishtwar.
These medical professionals will conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments of the local residents, facilitating early detection of potential health issues and delivering necessary interventions. The primary objective of this initiative is to bridge the healthcare gap between urban and rural areas, with a particular emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable populations who face limited access to medical resources.
Through regular visits over the course of three months, “Doctor Apke Gaon Mai” aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services, including general health check-ups, diagnosis of common ailments and the provision of vital healthcare advice. Furthermore, the healthcare professionals will prioritize health education, promoting preventive measures and raising awareness about prevalent diseases in the region. The initiative seeks to empower local communities with knowledge and tools to maintain good health and make informed healthcare decisions.
The next camp is scheduled on 22nd July 2023 at Gulabgarh Paddar.
