DC discusses action plan for maiden Special Passport Drive in Poonch

POONCH, July 17: In a move to improve passport appointment availability, the District Administration Poonch,  in collaboration with Regional Passport Office Jammu is going to organise first ever  Special Passport Drive in Poonch in New Auditorium Degree College Poonch  on July 22 (Saturday) and July 23  (Sunday).

In this connection, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M. Choudhary chaired a meeting in his office chamber to discuss the action plan.

During the meeting, the DC said that there will be 180-slots for Saturday and 90-Slots for Sunday. He said the applicants can book or reschedule an appointment on www.passportindia.gov.in  for the scheduled dates for Poonch. He further said that prior appointments are mandatory, and no walk-in requests will be entertained.

The drive comes as a relief to many passport applicants who have been facing long waiting times for appointment availability.

The DC directed concerned officers to make proper Seating Arrangements, PA System, parking and other facilities for the convenience of the passport applicants and visiting team.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, ACR Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Deputy Director Employment Mohd Rafiq, ARTO, Basharat Mehmood and other concerned officers and officials.
