4 Members of Honey Trap gang arrested in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar July 21: An extortionist gang was busted and four people, including two women, were arrested for alleged involvement in honey-trapping people in Srinagar.

The accused were identified by police as Firdous Ahmed Mir of Rainawari, who posed as SP,
Mohammad Tariq Mir of Lal Bazar who posed as a reporter, Ashiva of Bemina a pseudo honey trap girl and Masrat Mir of Habba Kadal, who posed as a crime branch officer.

Police informed that the Girl used to set up a meeting with the gullible person. The other members of the gang would impersonate professionals like reporters/police & then blackmail the victim. One house of female accused in Mehjoor Nagar was used.

A case has been registered under the relevant section and further investigation has been initiated.
