LG Sinha reviews Social Welfare Deptt’s performance for underprivileged citizens in crucial meet

J&K Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha presided over a crucial meeting to review the performance of the Department of Social Welfare, assess the functioning of various verticals, and evaluate the implementation of Central and Union Territory’s welfare schemes.

Emphasizing the importance of social safety nets and the social and economic empowerment of underprivileged communities, the meeting underscored the administration’s commitment to uplifting the vulnerable sections of society.

He directed to assess the impact of rehabilitation efforts of drug abuse victims as well as create avenues for their self-employment, livelihood support for generations and capacity building to integrate them back into the society.

He stated that adequate attention and sensitivity is required to increase employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups under SC,ST, OBC Development Corporation & Women Development Corporation & Self Employment Schemes so that they can be made equal partners in development.
