Seminar on ‘Paanin Zaw Paanin Kath’ held at GHSS Dangiwacha
Kashmiri literature and its vast dimensions elaborated threadbare
BARAMULLA, July 21: In a bid to preserve and promote mother tongue which is akin to preservation of culture and ethnicity, a daylong seminar was held at Government Higher Secondary School Dangiwacha on ‘Paanin Zaw Paanin Khath’.
The day long seminar was presided over by Ex. Director General Doordarshan, Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, Renowned poet and writer, Shabir Ahmad Shabir besides other dignitaries of different walks of life.
At the outset, a welcome note was presented in the seminar wherein all the dignitaries and participants were paid salutation.
On the occasion, a series of deliberations were held during which the poetic genesis was discussed and the Kashmiri literature and its vast dimensions were elaborated threadbare.
During the seminar, speakers highlighted the importance of mother tongue, especially Kashmiri, Gojri, Pahadi and other languages spoken in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. They stressed on preservation of mother tongue that is akin to preservation of culture and ethnicity of a particular area.
It was asserted that the parents should ensure that they converse with their children in mother tongue.
Moreover, during his address, Dr. Rafiq Masoodi urged the next generation to accept the challenges making their tongue as the medium of instruction. He also highlighted the threats and possible onslaught on the language by several means.
Dr Masoodi also appreciated the speakers, Principal and the staff of the institution who made this program successful which will go a long way in spreading the word Panin Zyew Panin Kath.
Meanwhile, the students of the institution presented cultural and literary items to enthrall the audience.
