Leopard captured by Wildlife Department in Doda district, providing relief to residents
Wildlife Department successfully captured a troublesome leopard that had been causing distress to the residents of the Kastigarh area in the Doda district.
The relentless efforts of the department’s trained officials led to the successful capture of the elusive big cat, bringing relief to the local community.
The decision to capture the leopard was prompted by numerous complaints received by the Wildlife Department regarding the animal’s presence and its potential threat to the safety of residents in the region.
Upon receiving the complaints, the range officer promptly forwarded them to the concerned authorities.
In response, the Wildlife Department took swift action and laid a strategic trap on July 21 to capture the elusive predator. Wildlife Officer Rifat Latief expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the operation.
He stated, “Our range officer received a complaint and he forwarded it to us. We had laid a trap for the leopard on July 21. Today we have been successful in capturing the leopard. It was a difficult task, but we have trained officials who handled the operation skillfully.”
