GDC Vijaypur organises awareness activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign

SAMBA, August 01: NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College, Vijaypur, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of the college, today organised a series of awareness events under the umbrella of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Mission LiFE and G20 in the College campus.

The College Principal, Dr. Vandana Gupta briefed the students,   teachers and other staff about creating awareness about the hazardous consequences of substance abuse. She also administered an anti-drug pledge to the students and staff members i.e. “To fully stand with the Government in its fight against the usage, consumption and manufacturing of illegal narcotic substances and to contribute with utmost dedication towards the growth of Jammu and Kashmir and welfare of its people.” 

A documentary was also screened on the occasion to highlight the importance of treating people (who use drugs) with dignity and respect and of preventing use of drugs through education and awareness-raising.

The events were coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor NSS) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and co-coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Red Ribbon Club) and Prof. Anil Bhagat (HoD Commerce).
