DC reviews Preparation Plan for twin campaigns
SAMBA, January 09: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee and discussed various aspects of road safety with concerned stakeholders.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on various aspects of road safety, including Road Accident Victim fund, nomination of Good Samaritan, organizing road safety week 2023, operationalization of E-rickshaw, status of black spots, traffic decongestion plan, integrated Road accident database besides other minor issues.
The Deputy Commissioner passed strict instructions to ensure minimum delay time in disbursement of financial assistance under Road accident Victim fund and directed officers to resolve pendency through inter departmental coordination. The DC directed Committee members to provide training to youths, Apda Mitra, Red Cross, NSS volunteers and other social organizations under Road Safety week to strengthen First Response mechanism and medical assistance in the event of accidents.
She also directed Revenue and Municipal authorities to identify suitable parking slots within the market areas for streamlining the traffic and avoiding traffic jams.
Under Road Safety Week commencing from 11th January 2023, holding of awareness Rallies, Walkthons, Swachta Pakhwada, Signature Campaign, special Awareness drives, Medical and eye check up camps, First responder training programme etc. were discussed and finalized.
During the meeting, Sanjeev Kapoor NIC presented detailed information on Integrated Road Accident Database Portal, giving out progress and status of uploaded data.
Among others Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur and Ghagwal, Dy. SP Traffic, ARTO, CMO, Executive Engineer PWD, representative from National Highway, among others attended the meeting.
