JJM Fortnight in full swing across Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, August 03: Kishtwar district is currently celebrating JJM Fortnight with the aim of raising awareness about the Jal Jeevan Mission Programme. The celebration has seen 21 activities performed across the district, including painting competitions at various educational institutions on themes such as water conservation and rainwater harvesting.

Under various activities of the fortnight, water testing is being conducted at various locations, including educational institutions, Panchayat Ghars and places with heavy footfall. Women are being given Field Testing Kits and are being trained in their use. The fortnight has also witnessed participation of hundreds of students as well.

Gram Sabhas are to be held in several blocks, with participation of members of Pani Samitis and the locals. They are being educated about their roles and responsibilities in the JJM program, with the goal of empowering them to take ownership of the scheme in the future.
