DC Budgam distributes motorized scooties to specially-abled persons of district
Also hands-over appointment orders to Anganwadi workers (Sanginis)
BUDGAM, AUGUST 05: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo today handed over keys of motorised scooties to the eligible specially-abled persons and also handed over appointment orders to Anganwadi Workers (Sanginis) on behalf of LG, Shri Manoj Sinha during a function held at Sports Stadium Budgam.
The distribution cum orientation programme was organised by the District Social Welfare Office in collaboration with PO, ICDS, Budgam.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the initiative of providing assistance and empowering our specially-abled persons was taken under the directions of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor.
He said the District Administration is keen on providing all possible support to all extremely specially-abled persons across the district and ensure them accessibility to their utmost satisfaction level.
He said that all efforts are on to keep providing prosthetic aids viz. scooties, hearing aid, tricycles, accessibility to all offices and covering beneficiaries under all central and UT level schemes to benefit them.
Speaking regarding the recruitment of Anganwadi Workers and helpers, he said that their recruitment was carried out in a transparent manner with merit being the sole criterion and that the entire process was closely monitored by Hon’ble LG and Worthy Chief Secretary.
On the occasion, the DC also distributed formal appointment letters among the selected Aganwadi Workers and Helpers and congratulated them on their joining.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice- Chairman, DDC Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Jahra and other DDC members appreciated the district administration for providing motorized scooties to the eligible beneficiaries and termed it as important for their empowerment.
SSP Budgam, Al Tahir Gillani who also spoke on the occasion, said that the mobility will help these specially-abled persons to be independent and will prove a major tool for their freedom of movement.
Among others, DDC Members, ADC Budgam, District Social Welfare Officer Budgam and TSOs were also present on the occasion.
A large number of specially-abled persons participated in the event, where awareness and orientation regarding drugs menace and its precautionary measure was provided by the department.
