Advisor UT Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal chairs the review meeting on Meri Maati Mera Desh Program
Leh, August 08: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal chaired a review meeting on the preparations for the celebration and commemoration of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” program at Civil Secretariat, Leh.
Director of Youth Services and Sports, Government of India (GoI), Pankaj Kumar Singh presented detailed insights on Meri Maati Mera Desh and Har Ghar Tiranga 2.0 programs. He highlighted the event as a tribute to the ‘Veers’ and ‘Veeranganas’ who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country. He shared the main points of the program Meri Maati Mera Desh.
Dr Kotwal emphasized the importance of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign and instructed the placement of memorial plaques at Government Schools, Panchayat Ghars, parks, and other public places to honor the martyrs who made supreme sacrifices for the nation. To ensure effective monitoring and implementation of the campaign, the concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) have been appointed as nodal officers at the districts and block levels respectively, Dr Pawan Kotwal was informed.
The advisor urged all the officers to ensure and he instructed the officials to encourage people to participate in the program. He urged all the officers of the Union Territories of Ladakh to participate extensively in the campaign with full fervor.
Director of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Tahir Hussain shared the preparations for the event at the village and block level of the region.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner Secretary of Culture, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan; Administrative Secretary of Rural Development, Amit Sharma; Secretary to Hon’ble LG Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar; Director RD&PR, Ladakh Tahir Hussain; Deputy Commissioner, Leh Santosh Sukhadeva; Additional Deputy Development Commissioner, Leh; while Director Youth Services & Sports, GoI, Pankaj Kumar Singh; Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, and concerned officers of the district; and Jossy Joseph from Delhi joined the meeting through video conferencing.
