‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign commences across B’la
Series of activities held to invoke feeling of patriotism among people
BARAMULLA, AUGUST 09: With an ambition to adduce a feeling of patriotism and unity in the hearts of people and promoting a sense of respect for the soil of the nation, ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign commenced today across Baramulla district amid an array of activities as envisaged under the programme.
District Administration Baramulla on the occasion organized a series of events to commemorate the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign in all public institutions across the district including Sopore, Pattan, Tangmarg, Uri and other places.
The programme witnessed celebration of all the components including Plantation and remembering brave hearts, Memorials, hoisting of National Flag and singing of Rashtra Gaan (National Anthem) and Panch Pran Pledge.
Among other concerned Sub Divisional heads, the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of all PRIs, District officers, prominent stakeholders, students, teachers and other concerned functionaries.
During the day-long programme, memorial plaques (Shilaphalakam) were inaugurated at all the Panchayats to pay tributes to the freedom fighters of the country. Salutations were paid to the Veers wherein the bravery and patriotism of the freedom fighters were recalled.
A pledge of Commitment (Panch Pran Pledge) ceremony was also organised during which the participants were administered a pledge to work together for the betterment, developmental and prosperity of the nation.
Meanwhile, other activities including holding of Tiranga rally, Singing of Rashtra Gaan, Plantation of saplings were also amongst the activities conducted in all public institutions to mark the celebration of the campaign.
