DC Samba felicitates centenarian war veteran at Mandi Sangwali
SAMBA, AUGUST 09: As a part of “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign, the Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma accompanied by a team of officers, today embarked on a poignant visit to honour the valorous 102-year-old war veteran, Major Dalip Singh, residing in Mandi Sangwali.
The team of officers, while paying homage to the centenarian war hero, hailed his distinguished service for the nation.
During this emotive encounter, a deeply moving interaction took place with Major Dalip Singh. The war veteran shared his heroic stories and sacrifices leaving a profound impact on all those present.
Continuing this heartfelt journey, DC Samba proceeded to Mandi Kotli Samba, where the families of martyrs reside. In a gesture of sincere respect, the DC collected soil from the homes of these brave martyrs, symbolizing a connection to their legacy and sacrifice.
The DC Samba also extended a gracious and honorable invitation to the families of martyrs and war veterans to join in the forthcoming Independence Day 2023 celebrations at the esteemed Rani Suchait Singh Stadium in Samba. The gesture underscored the commitment to recognizing and commemorating the immeasurable contributions and sacrifices of these valiant individuals.
