UBA, Jammu University Chapter Initiative under Pradhan Matri TB Mukt Abhiyaan

Jammu, August 10: The core group of Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan (UBA), Jammu University Chapter today held interaction with the experts of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) from the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu to undertake the initiatives under Pradhan Matri TB Mukt Abhiyaan in the villages adopted by University of Jammu. UBA has been conducting multiple activities in the adopted villages under the able guidance of Prof Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu. During the interaction the objectives of the scheme and the expectations from the UBA members were deliberated upon. Dr. Poonam Mahajan, STO,  Dr Ashfaq and Dr Pawan, WHO Consultants, Jammu Division, the  experts from the Directorate of Health Services desired to collaborate with the UBA team of the university of Jammu to organize activities phase wise under the PMTBMBA starting with the university campus and then moving to the five villages adopted by the University of Jammu with a mission to make these villages TB free. This initiative will be taken up in collaboration with the Jammu University Health Centre led by Dr. Bharat Bhushan (CMO) who would liaison to organize these programmes on the campus and in the adopted villages with the help of UBA team and NSS Volunteers. A draft plan will be prepared to take on these activities on regular basis. The core committee members including Prof Jasbir Singh, Prof Neeru Sharma, Prof Samridhi Arora, Prof Sarika Manhas, Dr N Suresh Rao, Dr. Hema Gandotra, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Amit Sharma, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Lone, Dr Surinder Sharma, Dr Narinder Kumar and Dr Charu Mohan attended the meeting.
