DC Reviews Implementation of Self-Employment Generation Schemes in Rajouri district

Over 7667 Unemployed Youth benefitted in 2022-23 FY

RAJOURI, August 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, held on Thursday took a comprehensive review of the progress achieved under self-employment generation schemes in the district.

Chairing a meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to identify and support potential entrepreneurs through the self-employment generation schemes. He emphasized the crucial role of startups in employment generation and economic development.

At the outset, Deputy Director Employment, Qadeer Ul Rehman informed the meeting that during 2022-23 Financial -Year around 7667 unemployed youth were provided financial support under different schemes. “This year the target is to extend the benefits to 11000 unemployed youth”, he informed.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of diligent monitoring and evaluation to ensure the success of these programs. He urged officials to establish robust mechanisms for tracking progress, promptly addressing any challenges that may arise, and fostering collaboration with other departments and stakeholders for optimal outcomes.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to promote self-employment opportunities and empower the local populace. He called upon the stakeholder departments to encourage potential beneficiaries and fully leverage the schemes to enhance their livelihoods and contribute to the overall progress of the district.

The self-employment generation schemes are part of the District Administration’s broader vision to foster economic empowerment and create sustainable livelihood options.
