‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign gains momentum in Kathua district

KATHUA, August 10: On the second day, the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign witnessed a series of events across the administrative units of Kathua district.

District Administration Kathua on the occasion organized an array of activities to commemorate the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign in all public institutions across the district.

The programme witnessed celebration of all the components including Plantation and remembering brave hearts, Memorials, hoisting of National Flag and singing of Rashtra Gaan (National Anthem) and Panch Pran Pledge.

Among other concerned Sub Divisional heads, the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of all PRIs, District officers, prominent stakeholders, students, teachers and other concerned functionaries.

NSS Unit of GDC Mahanpur organized “Panch Pran pledge” taking ceremony to celebrate India’s 76th year of Independence. The event themed ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ aimed to focus on making India a developed country, eliminate the mentality of slavery, be proud of our rich heritage, uphold unity and solidarity, fulfill duties as citizens, and respect those who protect the Nation. The programme was organized under the patronage of Principal of the college Dr. Sangeeta Sudan.

NSS Units GDC Kathua created an Amrit Vatika with 75 saplings of indigenous trees in NSS adopted village Bhagthalli of Jarai Panchayat, Kathua.

Principal GDC Kathua Prof Seema Mir flagged off the plantation van along with NSS Volunteers and program officers for conducting plantation drive in the adopted Panchayat Jarai’s village Bhagthali.This event was organized in continuation to series of activities to be undertaken by NSS Units as part of Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign themed azadi ka amrit mahotsav celebrations.

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsov on the theme “Meri Matti Mera Desh “ awareness drive by D.C Enforcement Kathua (HQ Lakhanpur) on NH 44 was held. The Drivers were sensitised regarding carrying eway bill / e invoice and also asked them to aware their dealers to issue proper invoices

It is worth mentioning here that the District Administration has planned a series of events and themes under the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign including its components viz. Silaphalakam, Vasudha Vandhan, Veeron Ka Vandan, hoisting of National Flag, singing of Rashtra Gaan and Panch Pran Pledge besides the local level programs shall also be held   to pay homage to the ‘Veers’ who had sacrificed their lives for our future preferentially freedom fighters and defense personnel.
