Rajni Bala initiates tile work for Neel Sheel Vihar Lane at Ward 60

Prioritize improving power supply before considering implementation of prepaid smart meters

JAMMU, Aug 12: Rajni Bala, Corporator representing Ward No. 60 in Paloura Jammu, today kick-started development project by inaugurating the tile work for a lane within the Neel Sheel Vihar locality falling in the Jammu North Assembly segment.

After commencing the developmental project, the senior Congress leader interacted with the local residents, attentively addressing their concerns. The community members expressed serious apprehensions regarding the installation of prepaid smart meters, anguishing over the irregular power supply situation in Jammu.

Rajni Bala emphasized the necessity for the government to prioritize improving the power supply before considering the implementation of smart meters. She strongly opposed the decision of J&K Government to replace smart power meters with prepaid meters. She criticized the move, asserting that merely switching from one type of meter to another would not address the root cause of corruption within the system.

She strongly condemned the government’s approach of burdening the general public with advance payment of power bills, especially during a time when the population is already struggling due to the economic repercussions, inflation and unemployment in J&K.

The senior Congress leader underscored the government’s ability to conduct other elections, including ULB, Panchayat, and Lok Sabha, highlighting that there exists no legitimate reason to avoid holding Assembly elections in J&K. She firmly believed that the BJP Government is well aware that the people of Jammu will not overlook their breach of trust and failure to provide fundamental necessities.

Rajni Bala expressed her conviction that the Congress party stands as the sole entity capable of realizing the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Urging the public to rally behind the Congress Party, she emphasized the need for collective support to ensure equitable and comprehensive development across the state.
