DLSA Gbl organizes multifarious activities to commemorate Independence Day 2023

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 12:  District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, organised various activities on the eve of commemoration of Independence Day, 2023.

District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal is proud to announce that it successfully organized a series of awareness programmes to mark the celebration of Independence Day, in collaboration with Department of Education headed by Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, at the auditorium of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Ganderbel, under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority.

The programme was aimed to instil the values of patriotism and highlight the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters among the students. The programme was organised under the able guidance of Chairman DLSA, Ganderbal, Ritesh Kumar Dubey and under the supervision of Chief Judicial Magistrate/Incharge Secretary, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi.

The various activities conducted during the event included painting competitions, essay, speech competitions, and cultural programmes.

 Through these platforms, students were given an  opportunity to showcase their talents and gain a deeper understanding of the significance of patriotism.

The painting competitions allowed students to portray their creativity by visually expressing their patriotic sentiments. 

The artwork served as a powerful medium for them to reflect on the struggles and sacrifices endured by our freedom fighters, ultimately fostering a sense of gratitude and respect for their contribution to the country’s independence.

Essay and speech competitions were organized to encourage intellectual discussions among the students regarding the importance of patriotism and the role of citizens in upholding the values of freedom and democracy. This platform provided an opportunity for the students to sharpen their public speaking and critical thinking skills while engaging in a meaningful dialogue.

The cultural programmes showcased the rich traditions and cultural heritage of our nation. Students presented various patriotic songs, dances, and theatrical performances, creating an atmosphere filled with pride and honour for our country. 

The inclusion of cultural activities aimed to unite students by celebrating the diversity that exists within our nation’s fabric.

District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, firmly believes that events such as these play a vital role in shaping the minds and characters of the younger generation. 

By organizing awareness programmes on Independence Day celebration, the Authority aims to inspire students to embrace the values of patriotism, love for the country, and an understanding of the sacrifices made for our freedom.

Chief Judicial Magistrate/Incharge Secretary DLSA, Ganderbal was the Chief Guest of the programme and was welcomed by Deputy Chief Education officer, Ganderbal,  Khazir Mohammad Malik and Zonal Education Officer, Ganderbal,  Abdul Rahman Mir, Principal of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Ganderbal, Nusrat Hussain and other staff members of the school.

On the occasion, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal , emphasized upon instilling noble values  as enshrined in the Constitution of India, amongst the students from their childhood. 

He referred to various fundamental rights and duties with specific reference democratic and socialistic values incorporated in the Constitution of India. He also emphasized upon the significance of Independence Day as a time to cherish the rich history and values that underpin our nation’s prosperity. 

Encouraging the audience to engage in acts of compassion, service, and civic responsibility, CJM articulated the transformative potential of our actions when grounded in the spirit of patriotism. He urged the education department to make it a regular activity in the school to inculcate the essence of respect for national and noble values.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding talent among the participating students and as a token of appreciation, the three toppers in the painting, cultural, essay and speech competition were presented with awards, symbolizing their valuable contributions to the commemoration of India’s Independence Day.

In painting Ist position was secured by Minza from Government Higher Secondary School, Ganderbal, in Cultural competition Ist position was secured by Sahil & his group from Government Boys Secondary School, Ganderbal, in speech competition Mehrun Nisa from Alamdar Public School, Duderhama, Ganderbal got Ist position and in essay competition Ist position was secured by Farhana Khan from Evergreen High School, Nunner, Ganderbal.

Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Zonal Nodal officer, Ganderbal,  Nazir Ahmad, staff members, and students from different school of District Ganderbal as well as officials, Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel, and Para Legal Volunteers from DLSA Ganderbal, participated enthusiastically in the programme. 

The District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, extended its gratitude to all the teachers, volunteers, and participants who made this event a grand success. Their commitment to fostering patriotism and instilling a sense of gratitude among the students is commendable.

The collaboration between DLSA Ganderbal and the Department of Education headed by Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, serves as a light of unity, innovation, and commemoration, embodying the spirit of India’s Independence Day.
