Govt should clear all doubts on Smart Meters: Kavinder
Kick-starts development works at Ward No. 54
JAMMU, August 14: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta said that government should dispel misinformation on smart meters and clarify the whole gamut regarding change in the power department billing system from post to prepaid mode and other apprehensions raised by the people.
The BJP stalwart leader was addressing a small gathering after launching development works at Ward No. 54 Sectors 8 and 9, here on Monday. It is pertinent to mention that Kavinder remained instrumental in carrying out number of development works in Jammu and the one launched today shall be completed at the estimated cost of whopping Rs. 27 lakh.
Kavinder while vowing to make Jammu a model city in the coming time said that the ongoing conflict between Jammuites and the JPDCL over the installation of Smart Meters and the process of switching to pre-paid billing system should be handled in a very careful manner.
He said that the need of the hour is that government should clear all the doubts regard aforesaid issue leaving no room for confusion to play a spoilsport, as things might take an ugly turn if people are not taken into confidence.
On the issue of opposition slamming the government over changing the nomenclature of SKICC to KICC, Kavinder wholeheartedly supported J&K administration’s stance claiming that personifying those who orchestrated the devastation of Kashmir is in no way justified and what the J&K Government has decided in the matter is precisely the right step indeed.
“Epitomizing NC leadership has no relevance as this party is the one which had ruined the erstwhile state to such a level that despite ardent efforts carried out by PM Narendra Modi, things are taking time to get sorted out”, he said adding that government should keenly work on such issues to undo all the wrongs committed by so-called Kashmir centric political entities.
