Government Departments, Educational Institutions celebrates I-Day
DHSJ: Independence Day was celebrated today in Directorate of Health Services Jammu with great patriotic fervour.
Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma hoisted the National Flag that was followed by singing of National Anthem by all present on the occasion. DHS Jammu congratulated everyone on this day.
Flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in the Health Facilities and offices across Jammu division.
Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu celebrated the 77th Independence Day with grandeur, gaiety, great patriotic, fervour, zeal and enthusiasm under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’.
Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary accompanied by all staff members, hoisted the National Flag in the Sheep Husbandry Complex Jammu followed by the National Anthem. He urged to realize, understand and cherish our coveted freedom and work towards a progressive nation. He extended his warm greetings to all the staff members on the occasion.
Similar functions were also organized in all the subordinate offices of the Department.
Horticulture Department Jammu: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak hoisted tricolor in the Horticulture complex to mark the celebration of 77th Independence Day in the presence of Joint Director Horticulture Jammu C. L. Sharma, Deputy Director Horticulture (central), and other officers and officials of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director Horticulture said that the country has completed 76 years of Independence and it has been celebrated with a campaign of “Meri Mati Mera Desh” under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
IIM Jammu: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated the glorious 77th year of Indian Independence as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with gaiety and fervor. The event commenced with a guard of Honor, and the Indian tricolor flag was hoisted by Professor B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, in the presence of faculty, staff, and students of IIM Jammu.
The faculty, staff, and students gathered in the Institute in large numbers to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervor.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, recollected the sacrifices made by our forefathers who chose death over life to protect the country and free it from the holds of colonization. He paid respect to the various Indian armed forces, paramilitary forces, and central armed police forces and dedicated this momentous day to them.
J&K Forest Protection Force: On the occasion of 77th Independence Day Celebration (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), Accounts Officer, J&K Forest Protection Force, (Direction Office) Dr. Anand .T. Sen unfurled the National Flag in presence of AEE, AD (HQ), AD ( Adm/Estate), Dy. Inpectors, FPF Personnel of J01 Flying Squad and other staff members at FPF HQ Complex Narwal Jammu followed by National Anthem and Tiranga March and Plantation at HQ as per “Meri Maati Mera Desh” Programme were the highlights for the Day.
District Jail, Jammu: In sequence of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) various programmes under Meri Mati Mera Desh like Panch Pran Pledge, Veeron Ka Vandan, Vasudha Vandhan, Tiranga Rally, Partition Horrors Remembrance Day and Hoisting of Tricolor were held in District Jail Jammu by the Jail Staff, CRPF Personnel and Jail Inmates and they partook massively in the said celebrations.
The Jail Inmates and Jail Staff presented colourful cultural programme on the occasion of Independence Day. The importance of the day was highlighted by the Superintendent Jail, Harish Kotwal.
Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal: Independence Day was celebrated in Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal with great joy and enthusiasm. Celebration started with the hoisting of National Flag by Veerinder Kumar Bhat, Sr. Jail Superintendent, who also spoke on the importance of the Independence Day.
Officers/officials of Jail and CRPF were present on the occasion.
A Colourful cultural programme was presented by inmates and staff inside the Jail premises. Bara Kahana was also arranged for inmates on the eve of Independence Day. Sweets were also distributed among the inmates as well as to staff members.
District Court Complex Samba: 77th Independence Day 2023 was celebrated in District Court Complex (Head Quarter)Samba today with full Zeal & enthusiasm.
The event commenced with the unfurling of the National flag by Yesh Pal Kotwal, Principal District & Sessions Judge Samba (also Chairman District Legal Services Authority Samba) which was followed by reciting of the National Anthem by the gathering.
In his presidential address, Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Samba extended his greetings and best wishes to the gathering on the eve of 77th Independence Day and also gave a brief description about the importance of this Day. He also sensitized the Judicial Officers, officers from the Prosecuting Wing, Advocates, Police personnel, staff of both District Court Samba & District Legal Services Authority Samba, students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Girls) Samba to work hard in their respective fields. The program/event was attended by Adnan Sayeed, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Samba, Preet Simran K. Grover, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba, Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Samba, Himani Parihar, Munsiff Samba, Ananta Raina, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate Samba, officers from the Prosecuting Wing, Samba, President, Senior and Young members of the Bar Association Samba, Police Personnel, Staff Members of both District Court Samba & District Legal Services Authority Samba, students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Girls) Samba & Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
During the Program a felicitation ceremony was also organized to acknowledge the services of the police personnel and excellent performance of the students rendered by them during the program wherein Certificates of Appreciation and sweets were distributed to them. The overall proceedings of the program got supervised by both Chief Judicial Magistrate Samba and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Samba.
District Court Complex Doda: To commemorate 76 years of independence of India and mark the celebration of Independence Day, District Court Complex Doda hosted a scintillating function.
Additional District Session Judge, Sudesh Sharma unfurled the National Flag. The court premises were decorated with the National Flags and other patriotic symbols. The judges, lawyers, court staff and other attendees gathered for the flag hosting ceremony and the National Flag was raised with respect followed by National Anthem.
Sudesh Sharma emphasised the significance of Independence Day and the importance of upholding the values of freedom, justice and equality. The cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.
District Court Complex Reasi: Independence Day was celebrated at the District Court Complex Reasi with full zeal & enthusiasm. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National flag by Sonia Gupta Principal District & Sessions Judge Reasi and Chairman District Legal Services Authority, followed by reciting of the national anthem by school children and all participants. President Bar Association Reasi also spoke on the occasion and Advocate MS Mir presented a patriotic song.
The event was attended by CJM Reasi Archana Charak, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Reasi Sunil Kumar, Munsiff Reasi Arti Devi, Munsiff Katra Lakshay Badyal, Addl Munsiff Priyanka Mahajan APP Reasi Ashwani Kumar, President Bar Association Reasi Shailendra Bhardwaj, Dy. LADC Ms Rashi Baru and Asst. LADC Supriya. Other Senior and Junior members of the Bar Association Reasi and Katra, Staff Members of both District Court Reasi & District Legal Services Authority Reasi & PLVs.
The overall proceedings of the program were conducted by Sunil Kumar, Secretary DLSA Reasi.
Government Joinery Mills Bari Brahmana: The 77th Independence Day was celebrated in the Government Joinery Mills Ban Brahamna, Jammu a unit of Jammu & Kashmir Industries Ltd.
On the occasion, National Flag was hoisted by Managing Director of J&K Industries, Vikas Gupta. A plantation drive under “Meri Maati Mera Desh was also organised and the officers and officials planted the saplings in the compound. After this an impressive Taranga rally was taken out in the premises and the function concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
JKAP-7th Security Battalion organized Panch Pran pledge taking ceremony under the supervision of Suneel Raj CO- 7th Security Battalion.
Later, an awareness programmes on “MERI MAATI, MERA DESH” was followed by a rally starting from APC Channi Jammu upto Main Market, Surya Chowk Channi Jammu.
The rally was organized with an aim to encourage people to join the “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahtsav in the 77th year of India’s independence and pay tributes to the Veers and luminaries, who gave up their today for our tomorrow and had supreme sacrifices for the nation.
DISTRICT JAIL POONCH: 77th Independence Day was celebrated at district Jail Poonch with joy and enthusiasm. The function was started with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Superintendent Jail, Khalid Amin.
The guard of honour was presented by the jail staff. The Superintendent Jail highlighted the importance of Independence Day.
All jail staff and CISF personnel were present in the flag hosting ceremony. A colourful cultural programme was organised in the jail. Jail staff, CISF personnel and jail inmates participated in the cultural programme.
GDC Ukhral: Celebrated Independence Day with great zeal, zest and fervour. The celebration commenced with unfurling of Tricolour by the Principal of the College, Dr. (Prof) Shallu Samyal followed by the singing of the National Anthem and ‘Salami’ Parade.
On the occasion, the students of the college presented various cultural programmes.
Jammu & Kashmir Energy Development Agency: Jammu & Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), Science & Technology Department celebrated the 77th Independence Day (15th August, 2023) with enthusiasm at 38-A/B, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Shafiq Ahmad, Additional Secretary, Science & Technology Department unfurled the National Flag which was followed by singing of National Anthem and display of various solar devices.
