School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu and MBSI organise extension activity in the border area.
Jammu, Aug 16: School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Microbiology Society of India, organized a rangoli competition centered around the theme of microbial and viral diseases at Sai Shyam Public College, Gou Manahasa, Jammu.
The event was organised as an outreach / extension activity in the border area on the eve of Independence Day. The activity was aimed to raise awareness about the significance of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Biochemistry to students to inculcate in them the scientific temper.
Dr. Madhulika Bhagat, Associate Professor, School of Biotechnology University of Jammu and Mr. Ankit Sharma member of student council of MBSI interacted with the students and teaching staff of the college during the event. The interactions highlighted the crucial role that these science streams play in understanding and combating various diseases caused by microbes and viruses.
Additionally, the event also served as a platform to honor and recognize the sacrifice of the martyred soldiers of the local area. Families of these brave martyred soldiers were felicitated during the event, acknowledging their immense contribution to the safety and security of the nation.
The collaboration between the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, and the Microbiology Society of India reflects their commitment to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and societal understanding.
