Delhi police arrest three active members of dreaded gangs after a brief encounter
New Delhi [India], August 22 (ANI): The special cell of Delhi police has arrested three active members of the dreaded Ashok Pradhan and Rajesh Bawana-Deepak Teetar gang on Tuesday, after an exchange of fire near Village Harewali in Outer Delhi.
A team of the Southern Range, Special Cell led by Inspector Shiv Kumar and Inspector Karamvir Singh, arrested three active members namely Vinesh Khatri alias Chini, Manish alias Gullu and Sanju alias Baba, Delhi police said.
“One semi-automatic pistol of .30 bore, one semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore, and one single-shot pistol of .315 bore with seven live cartridges recovered from the trio,” the police said.
On August 18, 2023, after receiving information, a team was formed and a trap was laid at Bawana Road, near Village Harewali, Delhi. The Accused were spotted coming on a motorcycle. When asked by the police to surrender, one of the accused whipped out his pistol and opened fire at the police. The police team also fired one round in self-defence, Delhi police added.
A case under appropriate sections of the law was registered at PS Special Cell in this regard, and an investigation was taken up.
Accused Vinesh Khatri is presently wanted in four criminal cases in Delhi. He has been named in a total of six criminal cases, including robbery, the Arms Act, criminal intimidation and trespass, in Delhi.
Accused Manish is the cousin of gangster Rajesh Bawania. He has been previously named in four criminal cases, including murder, dacoity/robbery, carjacking, and the Arms Act, in Delhi and Haryana.
Accused Sanju has recently joined the gang of Rajesh Bawania through his childhood friend Manish.
