DC Ramban launches “Road Safety Week 2023’; participates in ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ activities
RAMBAN, January 11: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today launched “Road Safety Week 2023’ and ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ activities in the district to sensitize the youth, drivers, and local population about the road safety norms and rules and the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma, ARTO Samrinder Singh, members of Transport Union, Drivers, Conductors, local public, and staff members were also present on the occasion
After inaugurating the awareness programme at Seri, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the different aspects of road safety and the importance of wearing seat belts and helmets in saving the life of an individual.
The DC stressed the need for strict adherence to the traffic norms and assured full cooperation from district administration to disseminate awareness about road safety rules and regulations. He also highlighted the responsibilities of the general public in implementing the traffic rules.
ARTO Ramban informed that during the ongoing road safety week, the MVD Ramban shall organize various informative activities including health checkup camps, rallies, and awareness programmes apart from checking vehicles across the district.
He informed that the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign will also be conducted as a part of ‘`Road Safety Week 2023’, under which the department in coordination with other stakeholders would be carried out cleanliness drives in different locations in addition to the number of activities being held.
