Fraudster chargesheeted for impersonating Dy Secretary & swindling Rs 12 Lakh in fake Govt Job Scam
Jammu August 30: Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu produced charge sheet for second time in a separate case in 11 days against accused Ashiq Hussain S/o Ghulam Hussain R/o Village Barthi Tehsil Gandoh District Doda in case FIR No. 65/ 2022 U/S 420, 170/IPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in cheating by impersonating as Dy.Secretary Civil Secretariat and duping the complainant of Rs 12 Lakh after inducing him to arrange Govt. Jobs in favour of his two sons in Tourism Department.
The culprit had earlier also lured and duped unemployed youth on the pretext of arranging him job a as Probationery Officer in J&K Bank by way of impersonation who actually happens a class-IV employee in PDD Special Division, Gandoh of District Doda.
The instant case was registered by Crime Branch Jammu on the complaint lodged by Mr. Ranjeet Singh Manhas S/o Chanchal Singh R/o H.No. 101 Ward No-65 Lower Barnai Muthi Tehsil Jammu, which was received through the Hon’ble Lt. Governor’s Grievance Cell portal, wherein the complainant had alleged that the accused induced him on the pretext of arranging Govt. jobs in Tourism Department in favour of his two unemployed sons in lieu of monitorary consideration of Rs 12 Lakhs.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the accused with the approval of Crime Headquarters in the form of preliminary verification and the allegations were prima-facie substantiated and the instant case was registered under the relevant sections of law for indepth investigation. During investigation documentary/oral evidence was collected, together with circumstantial evidences enumerated during the course of investigation, the offences U/S 420, 170/IPC for cheating and impersonation have been established against the fraudster.
