Govt Degree College Billawar celebrates Teacher’s Day with fervour & gaiety

SEP 5 JUNE Government Degree College Billawar celebrated Teacher’s Day with great fervor to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan under the overall supervision of Prof. Alka Sharma, Principal of the college.

On this occasion, students participated in different activities and also expressed their gratitude towards teachers for helping them in all the ways possible to continue their studies. The celebration started with the lamp lightening following by Sarasvati Vandana and various beautiful performances in which various students presented speech, dance, acting, and singing performances.

Faculty members of the college also thanked and applauded the students for displaying their talent in the program. The gratitude was also expressed by Dr. Alka Sharma, Principal of the college as she expresses her views by saying that teaching is noble profession, and a teacher must exhibit an unwavering commitment towards the moral and intellectual development of the students. She also said that Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan who was the first vice president of India was an intellectual who acclaimed the role of teachers in the society and insisted to celebrate his birth anniversary as teachers’ day. He was a renowned educationist, a highly respected teacher, philosopher and prolific statesman. 

Students also engaged teachers in various games. The winners of those games were awarded with gifts. Lastly the program was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by the students’ fraternity.
