SWD Doda organises awareness workshop on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan

DODA, September 5: The District Social Welfare Office Doda, in a proactive initiative, organized a comprehensive awareness workshop on the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”, highlighting the role of women in drug use prevention.

Held the other day, the awareness campaign brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including government officials, experts, educators, and healthcare professionals, to address the pressing issue of drug and alcohol addiction within the district.

During the workshop, participants engaged in insightful discussions, sharing their experiences and expertise in addressing substance abuse issues in the district. Speakers emphasized on the importance of community involvement, early intervention, and education as key components of this campaign’s success.

Students from Parisha Hostel presented a skit to spread the message about the ill effects of substance consumption on the person and their family and the role of women in combating this issue.

Today another event namely Role of Sports in Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, was held in the district wherein many sports activities viz: Badminton, Kabaddi etc were conducted to engage youth in sports so that they may not indulge in drug addiction.

  Tariq Qazi, District Social Welfare Officer, Doda, delivered the inaugural address and stressed the significance of collective efforts in achieving a “Nasha Mukt Bharat.” He mentioned, “Our district’s well-being depends on our ability to come together and combat substance abuse. This workshop marks the beginning of our journey toward a healthier and happier Doda.”

The event featured skit plays from students highlighting messages on drug free society.

Through their plays, they shared valuable insights on identifying addiction signs, providing support to affected individuals, and establishing a robust support system within the community.

Faculty and students of ANMT School Doda and Sports Department reiterated their commitment to support the campaign and announced plans for collaborative efforts to create awareness at the grassroots level. The workshop and Sports event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to make Doda a “Nasha Mukt” (drug-free) district.

The District Social Welfare Officer expressed its gratitude to all the participants, speakers, sports persons, and volunteers who made the event a success.
