J&K Fire and Emergency Service Dept celebrates World First Aid Day

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 9 (ANI): “World First Aid Day” was observed today at Fire and Emergency Services, headquarters in Jammu’s Gandhinagar. A training programme with regard to first aid was organised with the assistance of Health Department, said an official statement from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services on Saturday.

The Medical teams deployed by health department at Jammu imparted training to around 700 jawans and officers from all Fire and Emergency Stations of the UT and briefed them about precautions and necessary steps to be taken while providing first aid like specialised medical treatment, burn injuries, wounds, fracture, unconsciousness and electric shocks etc. at the scene of fire, added the statement.

The event was presided over by RK Raina, Deputy Director of Fire and Emergency Services, Command Jammu with the assistance of Dr Manju Medical Officer Fire & Emergency Services Jammu.

The training programs were attended by various officers of the department which includes the administrative officer, accounts officer, and all command officers of J&K, said the statement.
