Director Rural Sanitation evaluates sanitation initiatives through impactful expedition
REASI, September 09: Director Rural Sanitation, J&K, Charandeep Singh, led an impactful one-day expedition through Panthal and Katra Blocks to evaluate sanitation initiatives and promote solid and liquid waste management. Accompanied by Anirudh Rai, Assistant Commissioner Development Reasi, Pardeep Kumar, Assistant Commissioner (Panchayat) Reasi, Om Parkash, DPO Reasi, and Block Development Officers Manoj Raina and Mohd Shahbaz, Director Charandeep Singh’s visit was marked by significant engagements.
The journey commenced with a warm reception at Domail Chowk by the Assistant Commissioner Development and BDOs. Director Charandeep Singh’s first stop included a constructive interaction with the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) of Block Panthal, where they discussed various pertinent issues and gathered valuable feedback.
Subsequently, the Director visited Amrit Sarovar at Panchayat Sirakotla. Continuing the tour, he inspected assets completed under the Swachh Bharat Mission in Panchayat Sirakotla. His visit also included a stop at the CSC unit at High School Kakryal, a Compost Pit at W.no.3 Panchayat Sool, Amrit Sarovar at Taleen, Panchayat Dadura ward no.4, and an inspection of the Segregation Shed at Block Headquarter Panthal.
With a strong commitment to community engagement, the Director directed BDOs and RDD staff to proactively raise awareness among the public about the importance of solid and liquid waste management. He emphasized the necessity for behavioral change and encouraged the adoption of sustainable practices.
Director’s comprehensive visit to Panthal and Katra reaffirmed the commitment to sanitation and waste management, paving the way for transformative change in the region. In Block Katra, Director Rural Sanitation visited Panchayat Aghar Jitto and inspected the assets created under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Following his field visits, the Director convened a review meeting with all BDOs and RDD staff of the District at Dak Bangla Katra. During this meeting, he provided instructions to achieve the given targets in a time-bound manner under SBM.
With a strong focus on community engagement, the Director asked the Block Development Officer and RDD staff to actively raise awareness among the general public about the importance of solid and liquid waste management. He emphasized the need for behavioral change and encouraged the masses to adopt sustainable practices for a cleaner and healthier environment.
