NC castigates Govt for neglecting Bhadarwah on tourism front: Rattan Lal Gupta

Party committed to fight for the rights of Bhadarwah

BHADARWAH, Sep 11: The picturesque town of Bhadarwah, often referred to as “Mini Kashmir,” has been unjustly neglected on the tourism front by the present dispensation, causing dismay among locals and stakeholders. The government has miserably failed to harness the immense potential of Bhadarwah, which could have otherwise contributed significantly to the economic prosperity of the region.

This was stated by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President JKNC Jammu while addressing a party workers meeting in Bhadarwah town of district Doda.

The senior NC leader said Bhadarwah which is known for its serene landscapes, enchanting valleys and rich cultural heritage, has long been a potential tourist hotspot in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the LG-led administration’s lack of vision and commitment in harnessing the tourism potential of Bhadarwah has dealt a severe blow to the aspirations of people and hampered the growth of the region.

“The failure of government to prioritize Bhadarwah as a key tourism destination has resulted in inadequate infrastructure and a lack of necessary amenities for tourists,” he said, adding that even the Dak Bungalow of Bhadarwah which is being run by government is in dismal condition and offering inadequate services to the visitors. He also raised serious concern over the continued neglect of picturesque Jai Valley, which is considered one of the most beautiful tourist spots but lacks adequate tourism facilities.

The meeting was chaired by Qayoom Baghwan District President Doda Rural (Bhaderwah).

Earlier, at the outset of meeting, Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal Incharge of Bhaderwah Constituency threw light on the hardships being faced by common masses. He underscored the pressing issues of inadequate medical facilities, insufficient ration supplies, and unreliable power supply that have gripped the region. These issues not only pose immense hardships to the local residents but also showcase the government’s neglect towards addressing their basic needs and ensuring their well-being. Mehboob further expressed his firm belief that the J&K National Conference is the only political party capable of fulfilling the aspirations of the people in Bhadarwah town. He reaffirmed the Party’s commitment in addressing the concerns of Bhadarwah residents and working towards their upliftment on various fronts including tourism, healthcare, infrastructure, and overall socio-economic development.

Acknowledging the prevailing situation, the Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta exhorted upon party cadre to prepare themselves diligently for the upcoming polls. He asked them to stand united, work tirelessly, and connect with the people to address their concerns effectively. He stressed the importance of reaffirming the party’s commitment to serving the interests and aspirations of the people, promising to fight for their rights and uplift the neglected areas of whole district Doda including Bhadarwah.

Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary JKNC Jammu said that the National Conference remains committed to fight for the rights and well-being of the people of Bhadarwah and will continue to press for the development and upliftment of this beautiful region.
