AHD Jammu organises Mega Awareness & Free Medicine distribution Camp at Phallain Mandal

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 14: Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Dr Shubhra Sharma today inaugurated a Mega awareness and free Medicine distribution Camp under HADP at Phallain Mandal, Jammu. She was also Chief guest on the occasion.

Chief Husbandry Officer, Jammu, Dr Zahid Saleem; Livestock Development Officer, Jammu, Dr Zaffar Iqbal; Publicity Officer, AHD, Dr Nadeem, representatives of Cooperatives, NABARD, NRLM were also spoke on the occasion besides, other senior officers and officials of AHD besides a large number of farmers were also present during the awareness programme.

Livestock Development Officer, Dr Zaffar Iqbal gave a brief detail about the objectives of the programme and formation of two Farmers Producer Organization (FPOs) – Nari Shakti and Khidmat  having more than 200 Farmers. He also gave the details about steps being taken for the development and formation of FPO in the area.

A progressive farmer, Kulbhushan Khajuria highlighted the issues being faced by the local dairy related farmers. He also informed the Director about demands of farmers of the areas. President, Nari Shakti (FPO), Rekha also spoke regarding working of FPO.

While addressing the gathering, the Director Animal Husbandry Jammu appealed to the local youth to come forward and take benefits from different subsidized schemes launched by the central government for the welfare of the farmers and youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

She also invited people working in FPOs and Self Help Groups to   avail various departmental schemes under HADP and other schemes.

The Director appreciated the efforts made by the department to conduct a mega awareness program and assured that the department will conduct more awareness programs to give benefits to the farmers under various schemes. She said every possible help can be given to the farmers through the designated staff of the department so that they can achieve the goal in this regard.

During the awareness program, free Medicines were also distributed among the farmers by VASs under the presence of PRI members and Dairy farmers of the area.

On the occasion, the farmers of SHGs and FPOs also set up their stalls to showcase their products. The local artists also played a skit to spread the message regarding procedure and how to get benefits from the schemes.
