No sense in holding talks with Pakistan: Dr Manyal

September 15: BJP has a very clear stand that there is no sense in holding talks with a rogue state like Pakistan, which has been globally recognized as breeding ground of terrorism.

Stated BJP General Secretary & former minister, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, while reacting sharply to the statement of National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah that India should hold talks with Pakistan to find a lasting solution to all the conflicts with that country and that wars don’t resolve issues.

Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal reminded the NC President that India had always been making sincere efforts to maintain cordial and friendly relations with the Pakistan as a good neighbour but this country always back stabbed.

The former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had taken an initiative in 1999 and travelled to Lahore in a bus with the message of friendship but in reaction Pakistan further ignited the terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and we had to face Kargil war.  Atal Bihari Vajpayee again held peace talks with the then Military General, President Parvez Musharraf in Agra Sumit in 2001 but it also proved to be a futile exercise due to the indifferent attitude of Pakistan, as it was never serious to have friendly ties with India.

“How can one trust a country whose state policy has been  terrorism”, questioned Dr. Manyal, adding that Dr. Farooq Abdullah must be aware that it is the Pakistan, which raised full fledged military and proxy wars against India on numerous times, whereas India only wanted to be in peace. The NC president should condemn the barbaric and inhuman character of Pakistan and boost the morale of the Indian security forces whose soldiers are sacrificing their precious lives for the cause of the nation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Manyal further said that the only issue on which there can be talks with Pakistan is getting retrieved the illegally occupied areas of Jammu and Kashmir, for which the Indian Parliament had unanimously adopted a resolution in the year 1994 and the entire nation supports it and that the BJP as well as the Union Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to completely wipe out terrorism and reunite PoK with the Indian territory.
