DC reviews progress on PMGSY road projects in Kathua, Billawar divisions
Asks authorities to expedite pace of works, achieve targets within timelines
KATHUA, September 19: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of works under PMGSY sector here in the DC office complex.
It was given out that out of total 256 works including 134 for Kathua Division and 122 for Billawar have been approved to provide road connectivity in uncovered areas of the twin subdivisions.
Taking the appraisal of the progress achieved by the two PMGSY divisions, the DC was informed that 97 schemes out of total 122 have been completed in PMGSY Division Billawar and remaining 25 schemes would be completed within the set timelines.
Similarly, Executive Engineer PMGSY Kathua apprised the Deputy Commissioner that out of total 134 schemes, 123 works have been completed. He further informed that work on another 11 schemes is going on that would also be completed before the cut off dates.
The DC directed both the Executive Engineers to pace up the speed to complete all works in a time bound manner besides calling for removing bottlenecks to achieve maximum target works within stipulated time.
Regarding the pending works, the DC called upon the concerned officers to fix responsibility of the contractors to avoid unnecessary delays on their part. He also laid thrust on adhering to the quality standards of all works taken up by the executive agencies to get durable assets.
The meeting was attended by CPO and other concerned officers of PMGSY Kathua and Billawar divisions.
