BJP celebrates passing of women reservation bill

JAMMU, September 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir unit led by hundreds of women leaders and the Mahila Morcha activists of the party celebrated the passing of historic women reservation bill in both the houses by dancing and distributing sweets amongst themselves and others.

Ravinder Raina, President, J&K BJP also joined the celebration along with other party leaders at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Former Minister and BJP NEM Priya Sethi led the celebration. J&K BJP Vice-President Anuradha Charak, Secretary Veenu Khanna, Spokesperson Rajni Sethi, Reema Padha, Neha Mahajan, Rekha Mahajan, Divya Jain, Anuradha Sharma, Vaishno Devi, Adv. Jasmit Kour, Pooja Salgotra, Jyoti Devi, Asha Gupta, Kunti Jasrotia and others were amongst the prominent present to celebrate the occasion.

Ravinder Raina congratulated the women leaders and activists of BJP on passing of women reservation bill in the Parliament. He said that the initiatives implemented by the Modi government, including the cooking gas Ujjwala Yojana, opening of Jan Dhan accounts, specialized fixed deposit schemes, the disbursement of MUDRA loans to women entrepreneurs, Mission Poshan, Mission Shakti (Integrated Women Empowerment Programme) aimed at strengthening interventions for safety, security and empowerment of women have significantly benefited women. He said that this is the real women empowerment as envisioned by PM Modi.

Priya Sethi, speaking on the occasion, said that through all these years, the Modi government has empowered women. With this historic step, women would be empowered to make legislation and raise their power on every platform. She said that the welfare of the women remains the centre of all the Modi government schemes. PM Modi has recognized the importance of women in the society and the value of their contribution for 360-degree development. This decision is historic, and would change the political discourse and the phenomenal progress in the development of the nation and the world is about to happen. The Modi government has recognized the Women as a fortune maker and decision maker in addition to brilliant homemaker, added Priya Sethi.
