NSS Day celebrated at Government Degree College for Women, Kathua

KATHUA 25 Sep : Government Degree College for Women, Kathua celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Day with great enthusiasm and fervour on 25-09-2023.

The event, dedicated to honouring the spirit of community service, brought together students and faculty members commemorate the legacy of NSS. NSS Day, celebrated annually on September 24th, marks the birth anniversary of the founder of NSS, Shri Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

The programme commenced with an introductory speech by Dr. Arun Dev Singh, NSS Programme Officer, who inspired the students with his words of encouragement and the importance of selfless service to society.

The NSS volunteers proudly took the NSS pledge, reaffirming their commitment to serve the nation. Many NSS Volunteers spoke on the occasion, showcasing their dedication towards making a positive impact on the community. Dr. Savi Behl, Principal of the college, expressed pride in the students’ active participation and their dedication to the NSS ethos. She emphasized the importance of inculcating the values of service and citizenship in the youth, acknowledging the pivotal role played by NSS in achieving this. The event reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering responsible and socially-conscious individuals.

The entire event was organized and supervised by Dr. Arun Dev Singh (NSS Programme Officer) and other committee members: Prof. Raj Kumari, Prof. Pallavi and Dr. Rajni Khajuria.
