Director JKEDI reviews progress of developmental initiatives at Shadab Karewa Shopian
SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 25: The Director, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, who is also the Prabhari Officer of Shadab Karewa, today conducted a comprehensive review meeting at Government High School, Shadab Karewa.
The focus of the meeting was primarily on sanitation and rural development initiatives in the area.
He took a detailed assessment of the ongoing projects under the Jal Shakti Department. In light of the impending harsh winter, he instructed the department to prioritize and expedite the ongoing works to ensure their completion before the onset of adverse weather conditions.
“Today’s meeting addressed important aspects of sanitation and safety, which are essential for the well-being of the community. Timely completion of the projects under the Jal Shakti Department is of utmost importance to ensure uninterrupted access to clean water for the residents of Shadab Karewa,” said Ajaz Ahmad Bhat. “The Government is committed to providing essential amenities and improving access to various services in the area,” he added.
During the meeting, Bhat instructed the Rural Development Department to take proactive measures to ensure the area’s sanitation. Emphasizing the significance of a clean environment for the well-being of the residents, he urged local authorities to work diligently in this regard.
In addition to the meeting, he also inspected solid waste management sheds within the area. He encouraged the efficient management of solid waste to mitigate environmental hazards.
Later, Director, JKEDI visited the Amrit Sarovar Dam and took note of the reservoir’s condition. He directed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to install fencing around the reservoir, ensuring the safety of residents and preventing unauthorized access.
The meeting was attended by Javid Ahmed, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shopian, Block Development Officer (BDO) Keller, Officers of the allied Government Department and community members.
