GDC Ramgarh organizes Screening of Slide Show on Sabarmati Ashram – ‘Society and Truth’

 SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 30: The Govt. Degree College Ramgarh today organized Screening of Slide Show on Sabarmati Ashram themed ‘Society and Truth’ to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti,  in continuation to the series of activities being organized by the college under the aegis of India’s Presidency in G20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. 

The event was organized by Prof. Risha Kumari under the guidance and coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.

The event commenced by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi Ji.

Prof. Risha Kumari, Convener of the event said that the real name of Sabarmati Ashram is Satyagraha Ashram. Sabarmati Ashram is located in the Sabarmati suburb of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on the banks of the River Sabarmati. Sabarmati Ashram was created with a dual mission. To serve as an institution that would carry on a search for truth and a platform to bring together a group of workers committed to non-violence who would help secure freedom for India. She added that Sabarmati Ashram served as a reminder of the importance of historical landmarks like Sabarmati Ashram in preserving India’s rich heritage.

 Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Department of Statistics said that the aim of the screening of the slide show was to provide students with valuable insights into the historical significance of Sabarmati Ashram in India’s struggle for freedom.

 The faculty members who witnessed the events include Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Priya Sharma, Dr. Shivali Choudhary and Dr. Ekta Rani.
