Horticulture, Kashmir celebrated ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’

SRINAGAR, October 01 The Department of Horticulture, Kashmir on Sunday celebrated ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ to honour the legacy of  Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. 

To mark the event, ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ also called (Clean India Programme) was kick started at Directorate of Horticulture Rajbagh andDirector Horticulture Kashmir,  G.  R. Mir officiated the ‘Swachha Pledge’ to the employees of the Department. 

The Director initiated and led the sanitation drive in the premises of Horticulture Complex Rajbagh Srinagar. He was joined by other departmental officers and officials. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Director  highlighted the significance of sanitation and urged all the participants to follow the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’in letter and spirit. 

He further stressed that we should carry forward the message of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’and should keep our homes, offices and surroundings clean. Being the head of the Department, the Dir said that sanitation should also be an integral part of our Orchards, Farms and Nurseries.

 Director thanked all the participants and hoped that in future more such cleanliness campaigns will be held to spread the awareness about the Clean India Programme.
