“SWATCHATA ABHIYAAN” Unites Forces in a Grand Gesture for Swachh Bharat
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 01 In a heartwarming tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar (DLSA), under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Sainak Welfare Srinagar and the Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Forum (HQ) Delhi (J&K Chapter), joined hands to organize a monumental “Swachata Abhiyaan.”
This spirited initiative was a part of the national campaign “Swachhata Hi Sewa-2023” commemorating the 154th birth anniversary of the great Mahatma Gandhi.
The “Swatchata Abhiyaan” serves as a powerful reminder that collective action can bring about significant change.

The Cleanup around Dal Lake: The pristine Dal Lake, an iconic symbol of Kashmir’s natural beauty, witnessed a transformation as dedicated staff members and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar, volunteers from Sainak Welfare, and students of SP College, Srinagar, came together in a sweeping cleanliness drive under the leadership and guidance of Hon’ble Chairman DLSA-Srinagar, Jawad Ahmad and close supervision of Secretary, DLSA-Srinagar, Jahangir Ahmad Bakshi.
The objective was not merely to clean the surroundings but to uphold the spirit of environmental stewardship that Mahatma Gandhi so ardently advocated.
