Second Phase of Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign organised in Block Poonch
POONCH, OCTOBER 04: The Second Phase of Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign was today organised in Block Poonch.
The program was held by RDD in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra and NZCCP. The campaign entered the second phase with Amrit Kalash Yatras planned across the country. As a pan India outreach campaign, its aim is to touch every household of the country. Mitti and rice grains are being collected from over 6 lakh villages in rural areas and from wards in urban areas across India. In rural regions, it will be combined at the block level to create block-level kalash.
The event witnessed soil collection and tribute paying to brave hearts in the presence of Chairperson BDC Poonch Jameel Kohli, DDC member Poonch Ch. Abdul Ghani, BDO Poonch Ayaz Butt, Sarpanch of Pyt Khadi and other prominent citizens, teachers and students of the school HS Khadi.
It is important to mention that from 28th to 30th October 2023, Volunteers in traditional dresses from all the States will march on Kartavyapath New Delhi along with Amrit Kalash. This soil from all Villages and Blocks of the Nation will then be used to create Amrit Vatika in the memory of brave hearts. A memorial dedicated to the memory of the people who sacrificed their lives for the country will be established near the Kartavya Path.
