UIET, Kathua Campus (Jammu University) organises an Industrial Workshop on “Blockchain and Web3.”
Jammu, October 5: The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Shardeum, organised an industrial workshop on “Blockchain and Web3” for the students of the campus. Mr. Chirag Ravishankar, Community Manager, Shardeum, with extensive experience in blockchain and Web3, captivated the audience with his insightful presentations and hands-on demonstrations.
During the workshop, Mr. Ravishankar not only delved into the fundamentals of blockchain technology but also discussed its real-world applications and the transformative potential it holds. He emphasised the importance of blockchain in revolutionising industries such as finance, healthcare, supply chain management, and beyond. Participants were also exposed to the concept of Web3, which represents the next evolution of the internet, characterised by decentralised and user-centric applications. He also encouraged the students to envision themselves as pioneers in the Web3 space, highlighting the numerous opportunities it presents for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, appreciated the collaborative effort of UIET, Kathua Campus (JU), and Shardeum for organising the industrial workshop on blockchain and Web3. She further said that the workshop’s success is a testament to the commitment of UIET to providing students with hands-on experiences and exposure to emerging technologies. Further, she emphasised that the workshop fostered a collaborative and inclusive environment where all the participants had the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals. She also said that this workshop not only instilled a sense of curiosity and exploration but also empowered students with the confidence to embrace emerging technologies.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, I/C Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus (JU), welcomed the resource person and said that the workshop provided all participants with an introduction to the most current tools and technologies that are at the forefront of shaping the future landscape of blockchain and Web3.
Mr. Raghav Sharma, a student of B.Tech. CSE 5th semester, coordinated the whole programme, whereas Mr. Jatyam Billawaria, a student of B.Tech. CSE 5th semester, delivered a vote of thanks. The workshop was attended by faculty members and students on campus.
