Skating ring turf setup in Srinagar for budding players
Jammu & Kashmir (Srinagar) [India], October 8 (ANI): A Visionary Initiative to Foster Sports and Positive Development in Kashmir has been led by Vijay Dhar, an esteemed educationist and visionary, who serves as the Chairman of Delhi Public School Srinagar and Trustee of D P Dhar Memorial Trust to foster Sports and Positive Development in Kashmir. The infrastructure, which is set to be a game-changer for the youth of the region, boasts an array of facilities designed to cater to a diverse range of interests.
Pride of place in the new facility has been given to the region’s first ‘skate park’. This park which is designed and constructed by local
architects and artisans offers both beginners and enthusiasts the opportunity to hone their skateboarding and roller-skating skills. With time, the opportunity for night skateboarding will also be introduced. E grand inauguration ceremony saw the three visionaries handing over the facility.

Vijay Dhar, Chairman of Delhi Public School Srinagar and Trustee of D P Dhar Memorial Trust, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “Skateboarding is an Olympic sports now. I have personally witnessed the immense talent in the state. Our aim is to provide Jammu & Kashmir with opportunities for holistic development through sports and recreation. Enthusiasts of all ages are welcome. This facility will serve as a hub for nurturing talent and fostering a spirit of positivity among the youth.”
The project has garnered widespread appreciation from the local community, educators, and youth advocates, as it promises to offer an avenue for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir to channel their energy into productive and constructive pursuits.
Skateboarding was in included the Olympic Games in the year 2020 held in Tokyo Japan. It is also a recreational activity for tourists visiting Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of Northern India.
