POKLF to organise ‘Mashaal Rally’ to pay homage to Martyrs of 1947

Demands Political reservation for DPs, release of pending amount of rehabilitation package

JAMMU, October 09: The Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (POJKLF) under the chairmanship of Convener POJKLF Pritam Lal Sharma today organized a meeting of its Working Committee members at Gadi Garh, Jammu.

The meeting held threadbare discussions with regard to the observance of ‘Remembrance Day of Martyrs of 22 October, 1947’ and other burning issues related to the POJK displaced peoples.

The meeting decided to organize a ‘Mashaal Rally’ on 21^st of October to pay homage to the more than 70,000 martyrs of the genocide in the Pakistan Army backed Tribal raid on the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir started on 22nd Oct 1947 from Muzaffarabad.

Convener POJKLF, Pritam Lal Sharma laid emphasis on ensuring large participation by the members of the POJK displaced community especially from the youth to pay respect to their ancestors who lost their lives on the fateful day.

The meeting alongwith its working committee group members urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government for the in-toto implementation of the Joint Parliamentary Committee recommendations with regard to the welfare and rehabilitation of the displaced persons of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting expressed dismay over the unreasonable delay in issuance of the remaining amount (Rs 24.5 lakhs) of the compensation @ Rs 30 lakh per family as recommended by the JPC.

They expressed gratitude to the Modi Govt for providing Rs 5.5 lakh per family but maintained that it was just one installment of the total package and the remaining amount of Rs 24.5 lakhs should also be released.

The meeting also demanded that out of the 24 seats kept for the PoJK area, 12 seats be allotted to the DPs from PoJK in the J&K Assembly besides one Member of Parliament seat in the Parliament of India be reserved for the POJK displaced community.

Sarpanch Vijay Sharma, Suraj Parkash Bakshi, Pushak Sharma, Inder Parkash Khajuria, B R Sharma, Lekh Raj Sharma, Ashok Sharad, Kaushal Kumar, Pushap Khajuria, Romesh Kumar Sharma, Shanti Saroop Sharma and S. Makhan Singh.
